Nimi takes part in the AJ Small Projects Launch

The event and panel discussion featured presentations by last year’s winner Martin Edwards, of Martin Edwards Architects, and Nimi.
Nimi Attanayake a series of recent domestic schemes – Cloister Corner, Cork House (shortlisted for the AJ Small Award 2019) and Fruit Box – showing the practice’s distinctive approach to reworking and extending living spaces in small projects.
In the panel discussion Nimi's tips included: ‘Always start with a conversation’ and ‘don’t let budget and size affect your architectural response’. When asked about developing a narrative within small projects, Nimi said: ‘We always try and bring out designs that aren’t obvious.’
Instead of using wands or casting spells, a certain kind of enchantment in Slope Game comes from the rush of speed and the courage to continue when the road suddenly shifts beneath you.
Sometimes creativity just stops working when trying to invent usernames. I tried using an online username generator recently and it helped me see combinations I probably would not have thought of on my own.
